Taurus CHARGE

Important Safety Information

Read this information before using a Taurus CHARGE prescription. It does not replace the directions and warnings on your prescription label or advice from your prescribing clinician or dispensing pharmacist.

Check your exact prescription. Taurus website materials have described different CHARGE formulations. Ingredients and strengths may differ by prescription. Follow the current pharmacy label supplied with your medication; do not rely on a website ingredient list to identify your dose.

Indication

CHARGE may be prescribed by a licensed healthcare provider for erectile dysfunction (ED) after an individual medical evaluation. Use it only if it was prescribed to you and exactly as directed. It is not appropriate for everyone.

Contraindications and important interactions

Tell your clinician about all medicines and supplements you use, especially alpha blockers, blood-pressure medicines, antifungals, antibiotics, HIV medicines, and other medicines that may affect blood pressure or interact with your prescription.

Warnings and risks

Possible side effects

Side effects depend on the ingredients and strengths in your prescription. PDE5 inhibitors such as sildenafil, tadalafil, and vardenafil can cause headache, flushing, indigestion, nasal congestion, dizziness, and visual changes. Apomorphine may cause nausea, sleepiness, dizziness, or fainting. This list is not complete. Contact your clinician or pharmacist about side effects, especially if they are severe or persistent.

Get emergency help now for an erection lasting more than 4 hours, chest pain, fainting, sudden vision or hearing loss, trouble breathing, or swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat. If you have chest pain after taking CHARGE, tell emergency responders what you took and when; do not take a nitrate medicine unless emergency clinicians direct you to.

Boxed warning

CHARGE is a compounded preparation and does not have FDA-approved product labeling or a product-specific FDA boxed-warning determination. FDA-approved labeling for individual ingredients is not labeling for the compounded combination, route, or dose prescribed to you. Ask your clinician or pharmacist about warnings for your exact formulation.

Limitations of use and compounding information

Compounded drugs are not FDA-approved. FDA does not review compounded drugs for safety, effectiveness, or quality before they are marketed. The safety and effectiveness of a compounded combination may not have been established in clinical studies. Compounded medication should be used only when prescribed for an individual patient; it is not the same as an FDA-approved product and is not automatically interchangeable with one.

Apomorphine is not FDA-approved in the United States for the treatment of ED. If apomorphine is included in your prescription, its use for ED is outside the FDA-approved uses of marketed apomorphine products.

Ingredient label references

These NIH DailyMed searches provide labeling for FDA-listed products containing individual ingredients. They are general references only and do not describe or establish the safety of Taurus CHARGE or any compounded combination. The apomorphine labels found here are for other dosage forms and uses.

For questions about your ingredients, dose, contraindications, or side effects, contact the dispensing pharmacy or your prescribing clinician before using the medication.
